Brand Overview

“The greatest wines ever made in Bordeaux are those that are produced today.”
- Robert Parker
Freixenet USA first sold wines under the name The Bordeaux Collection starting in 2002.
As part of their continuing quest to produce ultra premium wines in the world’s most auspicious winegrowing areas, the Ferrer family of Freixenet in 2001 acquired Yvon Mau, a fifth generation family wine company, the second largest négociant in Bordeaux and one of France’s top wine exporters. Freixenet USA first sold wines under the name The Bordeaux Collection starting in 2002. Through Yvon Mau, the Freixenet Group maintains relationships with 250 growers in Bordeaux, and has solidified exclusive sales relationships with preeminent chateaux such as the second growth Château Lascombes of Margaux, Chateau Taillefer, Chateau Trimoulet and Chateau Preuillac.
Freixenet also distributes wines produced by Yvon Mau under the Premius label, which hail from Bordeaux and various Vin de Pays districts (Comté Tolosan and L’Aude). The wines of Yvon Mau and the fine chateaux wines are sold throughout the Freixenet network of distributors in the U.S. and in various markets around the world.
