Henri Abele -  Reims, Champagne

    Brand Overview

    La Belle Epoque
During Le Belle Epoque, Mr. Abelé sold nearly a million bottles of Champagne a year! It was during this period that the “Smiling Angel of Reims” (from the famous Cathedral of Reims, where French kings were coroneted beginning in the 5th century), became the symbol of Henri Abelé, as well as the city itself.

    Today
Today, grapes used by Henri Abelé rank among the highest “cru” of each grape varietal. Henri Abelé cuvée is 90 to 100 percent cru, as classified by the Committee Interprofessional du Vin du Champagne. The grapes Henri Abelé uses for the Millésimé are ranked amongst the highest “cru” and come from each of the prime grape growing areas of the Marne Valley, including Villers-Marmery, Vaudemange, Bisseuil, Bouzy, Villedommange, Charmery, and Noget l’Abbesse.

    Henri Abele exports
A limited number of cases are allocated for these shores. Indeed, you’ll find Henri Abelé in top rated US restaurants as well as the French Embassy in Washington DC. Be sure to also look for it in fine wine stores!

Consider this your opportunity to try the legendary Champagne the Wine Spectator calls, “A lovely brut that’s worth seeking out,” and that the Wine Enthusiast ranked among the “Top 10 Sparkling Wines of the World.”
