    Carta Nevada Semi Dry

Carta Nevada Semi Dry is Freixenet’s “bridge” between dry and sweet sparkling wines. It is considered appropriate on its own as an easy-to-enjoy aperitif or as a dessert wine.

    Tasting Notes

Carta Nevada Semi Dry has a residual sugar level of 4%, thus striking a balance between sweetness and dryness. It is toasty in aroma, yet fruity and flavorful on the palate. It tastes of creamy, sweet peaches with good custardy flavors. A nice zing of acidity keeps it balanced.

    Winemaking

Freixenet produces only méthode champenoise sparkling wines. The wine goes through two fermentations with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. Carta Nevada is aged for up to eighteen months in a cave.

"Off-dry, with a soft, creamy mousse and flavors of berry, hazelnut, spice and orange peel. It's nicely balanced, with a nut note lingering on the finish. Drink now."

    Blend

Carta Nevada is a blend of three white Spanish grape varieties called Macabeo (33%), Xarel-lo (33%) and Parellada (33%). Macabeo produces a fairly light but fruity, aromatic wine of medium-high acidity – characteristics crucial to the production of sparkling wine. It is also an important grape in the aging process because its must does not readily oxidize. Xarel-lo yields a robust, high-acid wine and contributes power and depth. Parellada is the star of all cava blends. It has both beautiful demonstrative fruit and finesse.
