Gloria Ferrer - Sonoma, California
Etesian Pinot Noir
The Etesian wind tempers the warm days of summer in the eastern Mediterranean. Similarly, in California the moderating influence of the Pacific Ocean cools the vineyards of Sonoma, promoting superb natural balance and well-developed flavors in our grapes.
Tasting Notes
A wealth of intense ripe cherry and red raspberry aroma and hints of cinnamon and smoke announce this lovely Pinot Noir. On the palate, the wine displays smooth, supple textures, luscious black cherry, plum and cranberry flavors and a light touch of oak amid well-integrated tannins throughout a long, deftly balanced finish.
Winemaking
• 100% Pinot Noir from Sonoma County
• Colmar, Martini, UCD 32, Wadenswil, Dijon, Wente
and Pommard were the primary clones and selections
used in the blend
• Individual vineyard lots were destemmed, partially
crushed and cold-soaked for three days to extract color
and aromas
• Thrice daily punchdowns and pumpovers were
tailored to each lot to extract fruit character and avoid
bitterness
• The wine was aged in French oak barrels for eight months
