Freixenet - Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, Spain
Elyssia Gran Cuvee Brut
Freixenet is excited to announce the launch of Elyssia by Friexenet, an extraordinary harmony of Cava tradition married to the new openness in winemaking. From the Latin Elysium or Elysian fields, meaning heavenly or a state of perfect bliss, Elyssia sparkling wines offers a symmetry of old and new.
We challenged our winemakers to create a new level of refinement in Cava. This challenge inspired them to think about bold new blends while limiting yields in pressing to guarantee the highest quality. Elyssia sets out to offer a wine that meets the aspirational needs of sparkling wine and cava enthusiasts.
The sensual, modern bottle and packaging of Elyssia offers a distinctive, elegant look, reflecting both the craftsmanship of Freixenet and its commitment to innovation and beauty.

Winemaking
Elyssia Gran Cuvée Brut is a delicious expression of symmetry with its unique blend of traditional Macabeo and Parellada Cava grapes with international favorites Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Most of the grapes for this superb sparkling wine are cultivated in the Freixenet family vineyard, ‘La Freixenada,’ in Sant Quinti de Mediona, where the chalky strata forms a rich, productive soil.
All four of the Elyssia grape varietals are handled separately. Each is carefully hand harvested, pressed through pneumatic presses and then fermented in stainless steel tanks using our own specially selected local yeasts. Only the best lots are then brought together to make the base wine for the creation of the unique Gran Cuvée blend.
